Season starts in May for SLS MTB Official NICA season is July - October for athletes 6th-12th Grade Practice 2-3 times per week - choose whatever days/times work for you Weekday evenings & some weekends Adventure Weekends Team supported race events starting in May through USACycling NICA race events in September - October for athletes 6-12th Grade

Weekday Practice is generally held at Silver Lake Park in Kenosha Saturday rides planned within 2 hours of Kenosha for new trail experiences Races/Events held throughout the state of Wisconsin

STEP 1 - SELECT PROGRAM: SLS RIDE PROGRAM - Your athletes loves to ride, but not so interested in racing.... Cost - Club dues of $125.00 INCLUDES: Moisture wick T-shirt, Water bottle, Socks SLS RACE PROGRAM - This program is for those athletes who want to race. Athletes don’t need to be the best or fastest to be in the competition program, just need the desire to compete and to push themselves and find your limits. Athletes in this program must wear a SLS team kit at the events on the team calendar they choose to attend. Cost - $225, NICA Registration of $88 plus race fee's (6th-12th grade only) INCLUDES: Club items PLUS SLS Jersey, SLS Bibs (shorts if youth size) and socks. Youth kit sizes will have a discounted cost of $185. SLS PRACTICE PROGRAM - This program is for those athletes who want the benefits of the practices and coaching SLS offers but will not be wearing the SLS kit and representing SLS at the teams race calendar events. Athletes will not receive an SLS team kit with their dues payment but may purchase one separately. Cost - Club dues of $225, NICA Registration of $88 plus race fee's (6th-12th grade only) INCLUDES: Moisture wick T-shirt, Water bottle and Socks SLS NICA Only PROGRAM - This program is for athletes who do not plan to participate much, if at all in spring or summer races or are just busy with other seasonal sports. These athletes still plan on participating in the NICA races for fall but would not benefit from a program that starts in spring. Practice for these athletes will not start until July 1st. A practice/club race kit is not included but can be purchased separately. A race jersey is still provided for the NICA race events. Cost - Club dues of $125, NICA Registration of $88 plus race fee's (6th-12th grade only) INCLUDES: Moisture wick T-shirt, Water bottle, Socks SLS SUMMER SERIES PROGRAM - This membership gets your athletes access only to specific SLS practices. For adult athletes this will include approximately three scrimmage short track races from May - July. Schedule will be weather dependent. For student athletes this will include the scrimmage short track races as mentioned above. In addition, membership will also include up to three cross country style races in July to August. Cost - Club limited membership dues of $20 STEP 2 - REGISTER WITH SOUTHEASTERN LAKES SCHOLASTIC MTB ASSN Pay in person at registration or pay online via our team store at cheddar https://2023-sls-club-dues-kit.cheddarup.com Both athlete and parent/guardian read and sign our SLS Code of Conduct Policy Both athlete and parent/guardian Read and sign the Waiver of Release and Liability STEP 3-RACE & NICA ATHLETES ONLY–ALL AGES-USA CYCLING REGISTRATION & FEES Junior athletes have the option to purchase a USACycling Annual Race license for $40, or pay a $10 day of race license per event. For NICA athletes, new for 2023, you need to request a discount code that will then be used when you register with USA Cycling. The code can be request by going to: USA Cycling code request You will need to request this and complete the USA Cycling registration prior to registering for a USA Cycling race such as the WORS events. Adult membership not required for purchase... Each race venue will charge a separate race registration and fee, this is for the USACycling race license only. STEP 4 - NICA ATHLETES - 6th - 12th graders Register in Pitzone for the Wisconsin League & NICA - $88.00 o If your athlete is new, we will send an invite to the parent’s email address used during the team registration process, so that you can create an account in NICA Pit Zone. This is where you will complete registration, waivers, and participation agreements. Once a athletes account has been created (or activated if a returning athlete), the athlete will need to go through the NICA registration system. STEP 5 - NICA ATHLETES - 6th - 12th graders - NICA RACE REGISTRATION & FEES An announcement has not been made in regards to the 2023 race season, however, in previous years, the Wisconsin Interscholastic Cycling League has offered a season race pass. This Season Race Pass is generally only offered early, and ends August 1st, and has saved money if purchasing all races at once. We will keep you posted as soon as information is available for the 2023 race costs.
